French milk is the journal kept by the 23-year-old American comic book artist Lucy Knisley when she spent 6 weeks in Paris with her mom. It is a delightful collection of her impressions (and adorable drawings, of course!) of life in Paris, food, friends, shopping, family, love and growing-up pains. Lucy’s doubts and states of mind definitely resonated with me – I remember going through the same questions and ‘moods’ when I was her age (and also later in my life…).
A fantastic companion during the long waiting hours I’ve been forced to endure lately.
