A few pictures from my holidays in Sicily, at last.
More or less in chronological order of our visit…
Cefalù and Tindari
Taormina
Noto
Agrigento and Scala dei Turchi
Scopello and Riserva dello Zingaro
Palermo
(most pictures were taken by my husband, Giacomo)
Sicily is absolutely amazing (as I hope you can sense from these pictures). So rich, so beautiful and so warm in so many different dimensions. It makes me very happy to know that such a wonderful place is less than 3 hours away from home.
I’ll come back with more details about this trip soon, including more pictures, our itinerary, our favourite B&B, foods and so on…
xx

It is a fantastic place to visit, Kayin. And it’s probably about 2hours away by plane from The Netherlands. You should go… ;) xx

I love the shot which Giacomo took of you on the Ipad/Kindle. His tumblr pics are really interesting. Lovely pictures and it looks like you went to some amazing places.

That’s also one of our favourite shots! I’ll pass your comments to Giacomo :)

Apart from the fact that it looks unbearably hot, Sicily looks fascinating. Your pictures remind me that it’s criminal to only have visited Italy once…there is so much more to see!

You’re right, it was unbearably hot sometimes (around 40 celsius…), but still amazing.
I am sure you’ll have more opportunities to visit Italy. I also want to travel a lot more there. I’ve never been south of Rome (aside from Sicily, obviously), for instance, and I’d love to explore that part of the country.

That’s it! After seeing these photos. I HAVE TO GO TO SICILY. Absolutely stunning! Which airline did you use? I checked out BA and they don’t have a direct flight.

Hi Marlene, we used Easyjet. They fly both to Palermo (the main city, in the north part of the island) and to Catania (east coast). Ryan Air has direct flights too. I’m surprised BA doesn’t have any direct flights. Maybe Alitalia?
