I didn’t buy anything while I was in Rome, last week. However, I brought a new dress in my suitcase back to London.
A vintage dress, but of a very particular kind of vintage: it is a dress from the 1950s that belonged to my husband’s great-grandmother!
It is made of silk and it has a lovely plissé overlay in the front.
It only needs a few adjustments (which I’ll ask my mother to help me with) and it’ll be ready to wear. What do you think?
I think I may make it a tiny bit tighter around the hips so that there’s no extra fabric when I wear it with a belt cinched at the waist.
I’m overexcited for being given this piece of family heritage :) Thank you, Franca. Grazie!
