Acne, Carven, Coats, Isabel Marant, Jil Sander, Max Mara, Rochas, Zara

If there’s a new season piece I’ve been obsessing over for the past weeks, it has to be the winter coat. I cannot open a fashion magazine without falling in love with a new coat. There’s such a variety of beautiful colours, cuts and materials. Ahhh… had I unlimited funds and storage space, I’d buy a handful of them!

Here are some of my favourites now in stores (but there are many other beautiful ones still to arrive later in the season… or so the magazine adverts make me believe).

Pinks & Purples

♥ Rochas (so-beautiful-it-hurts) ♥ Jil Sander (so-atemporal-it’s-almost-a-necessity)

Blues

♥ Acne (cool, cool, cool) ♥ Carven (cute, cute, cute. And this one is also cute)

Camels & Greens

♥ Isabel Marant (I need a camel coat in my closet) ♥ Max Mara (I don’t really need a green coat in my closet, but this one is so beautiful and looks so soft, I promise I’d wear it forever and ever)

Greys & Blacks

♥ Zara (useful and classic) ♥ Zara (sleek and classic)

Do you have any favourites to add to this list?

Can’t wait

Star Mela

I’ve been feeling a compulsion towards girlish things lately. Maybe it’s because it’s spring. Or maybe it’s just me regressing back to being 14…
Here’s my colourful, happy and shiny latest purchase:

Kalaya pouch bag from Star Mela (available here)

Speaking of Star Mela, here’s a few other shiny happy things I wouldn’t mind adding to my wardrobe this summer…

From top left corner:

♥ A cute embroidered cotton dress (£125) ♥ A fun carry-all beach bag (£52) ♥ An embellished pastel-coloured clutch (£49) ♥ An embroidered hippie peasant blouse like the ones my mother used to wear (£69) ♥ Another lovely pouch bag in easy to match colour & pattern (£49) ♥ A pair of delicate leather sandals (£67) ♥

Oh my brain is totally set on summer-mode now…

Have a great weekend, everyone! (A great looong weekend for those of us in the UK! Yuppiii!)

Isn’t it all just so completely, absolutely and incredibly wonderful?

I don’t think Emma Fletcher has ever designed something I don’t want to wear.

Couverture and The Garbstore
, in Portobello, stocks a selection of pieces from the Spring 2013 collection, by the way…

PS: I’d told you Couverture was a great shop, right?

& Other Stories, Fashion, H&M

As if H&M, Monki and Cos weren’t enough, the Swedish empire decided to present us also with Other Stories…I haven’t had time to visit the newly opened store in Regent Street, but a quick look at the brand’s website was enough to send my fashion cravings wild. So-much-good-stuff. Like, for instance, this stuff:

Clockwise from top left corner:

◊ flat leather sandals with straps (£65) ◊ tan shoe-sandals with tassels (£69) ◊ blue shirt dress (£45) ◊ yellow clutch (£39) ◊ black high heel sandals (£65) ◊ white silk trouser skirt (£55)

◊ block heel pumps (£79) ◊ ivory silk top (£39) ◊ blue Abigail Lorick sweatshirt (£39) ◊ black leather shopper (£145) ◊ jewellery ◊ aquamarine boxy bag (£65)

It makes me nervous knowing that all this goodness is available in a shop nearby and I haven’t had the time to check it out in real life yet. (I know, someone who gets nervous because of this should better go and get some professional help. I get a bit anxiously greedy with fashion sometimes.)

Have you been to one of their stores yet? I hope I can visit this week. And I suspect it may become a regular feature in this blog soon…

Advertising, Chanel, Chloe, Fashion

Two spring summer ad campaigns make my heart swoon every time I see them in a magazine…

Chloé
shot by Glen Luchford and styled by Camille Bidault Waddington

I always, always love Chloé’s campaigns. This season is no exception. Clothes, accessories, hair, makeup, everything. Love the 70s feel. The feminine, sophisticated elegance.

Chanel
Lesson of Elegance shot (and styled?) by Karl Lagerfeld

I love everything about this campaign. The colours, the geometry of the background… the whole composition is amazing.
The last photo is essentially my idea of a messy paradise. Look at all those wonderful shoes and bags scattered in the room. It makes me wanna jump into the picture and take possession of it all. Oh how happy I would be if that room were mine…

There are other lovely ad campaigns out there (Miu Miu and Celine come to my mind), but these two are definitely my favourite. What about you? Has any campaign drawn your attention this season?
